Gary Peters, August 1995, Vol.7 No.2, Page 4

The London and Western Ontario Branch U.E.L.'s newsletter, Update, also reports that the papers and letters of Sir John Beverly Robinson, Loyalist and Chief Justice of Upper Canada (1829 - 1863) will remain intact and in provincial hands, thanks to Ontario's Lieutenant-Governor, Mr. Hal Jackman who is also a Loyalist.  Through the efforts of our Dominion Historian, Elizabeth Richardson, Mr. Jackman was informed of the upcoming sale of the Robinson papers and he arranged through his family foundation for the purchase of the collection to be deposited in the Provincial Archives.

The papers of John Beverly Robinson include over 100 letters and documents, signed by Isaac Brock, King George IV, Queen Victoria, Lord Durham and other notables of the last century.  Our thanks to Elizabeth Richardson and to Lieutenant-Governor Jackman for their work in preserving this important collection respecting our history.
